Radio City Rockettes & PULSE Join Forces; Chance to Open in Christmas Spectacular

Two of the dance community's biggest names, the world-famous Radio City Rockettes, and prominent dance event, The PULSE, have formed a choreographed alliance to invite dancers from across the country to take part in the magic of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular! The annual PULSE Summer tour will take place July 16-18 in Los Angeles and July 22-25 in New York.

This year, The PULSE is offering participants of their summer event series the unique opportunity to audition to perform as the opening act for select performances of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular National Tour. This renowned holiday tradition will be delighting audiences in 26 cities nationwide, offering both dance troupes and soloists a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to perform on the same great stage as the awe-inspiring Radio City Rockettes.

Each year, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular National Tour brings the excitement and festive cheer of one of New York's greatest institutions to audiences all over the United States. This year's partnership with The PULSE provides dancers an incredible chance to showcase their talent, while sharing in the Christmas Spectacular's presence, with their hometown audience.

The 2010 Radio City Christmas Spectacular will continue to amaze patrons both young and old who have made this cherished production America's #1 Holiday Show. For 78 years, the Christmas Spectacular has been a holiday tradition and features dynamic Rockette performances, breathtaking special effects, dazzling costumes and astounding scenes. Audiences of all ages will experience a whirlwind of Christmas joy without ever having to leave their seats! Both brilliantly grand and genuinely moving, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular creates family memories that last a lifetime.

The Rockettes and the PULSE are offering a number of opportunities throughout the course of the weekend to ensure dancers of all ages and skill levels receive the chance to experience a bit of the magic of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular! See below for a breakdown of events.

Participants in both New York and Los Angeles PULSE Summer Tours will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their talent and receive feedback from top choreographers around the nation in the PULSE Performance Showcase. In addition to showcasing their talents, participants are encouraged to submit their number for consideration to be chosen to perform as the opening act of The Radio City Christmas Spectacular in the tour's closest spot to their hometown. Radio City Christmas Spectacular Director, Eileen Grace will to select these lucky dancers, and to provide feedback for all. Soloists, studios, and teams of five or more can obtain a Showcase or Solo Registration form e-mail perform@thepulseontour.com, however, spots are limited.

Additionally, select chosen acts will also win the chance to have a private meet and greet with The Rockettes at their local dance studio. Included in the meet and greet will be the chance for the dancers of the studio to perform their opening routine for, and receive feedback from, the women of the legendary kickline.

Special Rockette dance classes are being offered for all levels of dancers throughout the weekend events. Students will study the Rockette precision dance technique and learn original choreography from the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Lucky NYC soloists will have the exclusive chance to receive feedback from and work with Eileen Grace in an even more personal setting. The top 50 soloists from the showcase will be given the chance to participate in a closing number for the PULSE Final Night Gala-choreographed by the famed director!
