RESA FANTASTISKT MYSTISK To Return To Los Angeles After 15 Years Burglars of Hamm, creators of the interactive sock-throwing parody of one-person shows, EASY TARGETS, named Best Comedy at the 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival, are returning for the 2018 Fringe. The Burglars will be re-staging their cult-hit, RESA FANTASTISKT MYSTISK. RESA, which premiered to great acclaim in 1999 at the Edge of the World Fest. In the years since, RESA has traveled to the Seattle Fringe, The New York Fringe, and the Edinburgh Fringe, and garnered almost universal critical acclaim, including raves in The New York Times and The Scotsman. The production also received an LA Weekly nomination for Production of the Year, a New York Fringe award for Ensemble, and Backstage West Garlands for Acting and Playwriting.

RESA was one of the Burglars' first theatrical outings. The script is a recently unearthed masterpiece by Lars Mattsun, a lesser-known, but some would argue, more-deserving, contemporary of Ibsen and Strindberg. The play tells the story of Philip, a struggling painter who goes on a fantastical journey to reclaim his right to be an artist (the title roughly translates to 'Journey Extremely Mysterious'.) Director Todd Merrill, who not only directed the production, but also translated the script, is the world's first, foremost and only expert on the work of Lars Mattsun. "Philip's journey is the journey of any person of genius ability who is surrounded by doubters and saboteurs. He faces many obstacles, such as lack of funds and women, yet he ultimately triumphs, at least in spirit," says Merrill, "Let us pray to Thespis that we shall do the same at the Hollywood Fringe."

Burglars of Hamm is the four-person writing and performing partnership of Carolyn Almos, Matt Almos, Jon Beauregard and Albert Dayan. In the 20 years of the Burglars' existence, they have become an LA theater mainstay for their original satires that poke holes in vanity and theatrical conventions. Their most recent creation, THE BEHAVIOR OF BROADUS, a Center Theatre Group commission, won numerous awards, including Drama Circle Critics Awards for Musical Score, Ovation Awards for Original Music and Book of a Musical, a Stage Raw Award for Musical of the Year, and is published by Samuel French. They have been called "The Talking Heads of LA theatre - arch, geeky, high-brow and hip" (LA Stage Magazine), "LA's goofiest social satirists" (The Los Angeles Times) and "Perhaps the closest thing LA has to the Pythons" (Backstage)

RESA FANTASTISKT MYSTISK will play at The Broadwater Main Stage, 1076 Lillian Way, Los Angeles 90038. The cast will include original cast members from the premiere production Jon Beauregard and Selina Merrill, as well as Laura Nicole Harrison, Tim Kopacz, Scott Leggett, Candida Rodriguez and Moira Rogers.

The performance schedule is as follows: June 2nd at 6:30 pm, June 8th at 8 pm, June 9th at 2:30 pm, June 16th at 9 pm, June 17th at 8 pm, June 20th at 9 pm and June 22nd at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 and go on sale May 1st at hff18.com/5086
