From Beau Willimon, the creator of HBO's House of Cards, comes a political drama just in time for the 2016 Presidential election.

Farragut North, opening August 26 at Conejo Players Theatre in Thousand Oaks, is a timely story about the lust for power and the costs one will endure to achieve it.

Farragut North crackles with intrigue and political backroom dealings. The story here isn't about politics, per se, but about the behind the scenes political maneuvering that will make you see this election year in a whole new way. The writing is crisp and fast paced, and pulls the audience in from the very beginning and won't let them go until the twist on the final page. This intelligent and exciting political drama was adapted into the movie The Ides of March starring Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

CPT's production -- directed by Elissa Anne Polansky and produced by James Laguna -- stars Parker Harris, Allison Klinker, BRyan White, Katy Jarvis, Sam Machado, John Eslick, and Fred Saliba.

The show is rated R. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for students / seniors / military.

Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm, August 26 through September 17.
