By: BWW News Desk
Playwrights' Arena with Artistic Director Jon Lawrence Rivera, the only theatre dedicated to discovering, nurturing and producing original works written exclusively by Los Angeles playwrights, is presenting on Monday, September 2, for one night only, as part of their New Pages Lab Series, a public staged reading of a new play, CIRCUS UGLY.
CIRCUS UGLY, written by GABRIEL RIVAS GOMEZ, is about Razi, an unusual woman with paper skin, hunts for her long-lost mother in a town of freaks before wandering into an unimaginably seedy side of life. A story where being normal is something special. Directed by NATHAN SINGH, the cast features Denise Blasor, PAT COCHRAN, FRANCISCO PRYOR GARAT, JULLY LEE, ANN COLBY STOCKING and CAROLYN ZELLER.. CIRCUS UGLY begins at 7:30 P.M. on Monday. September 2, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. All tickets are "Pay-What-You Can." Playwrights' Arena at Atwater Village Theatre is at 3269 Casitas Avenue, Los Angeles, CA.. For information, call (213) 627-4473
