Casa 0101 Theater and Mexica Films present "Light In The Darkness," a story of young gang member's journey from self-destruction to self-realization. Written by Victor Tamayo and directed and adapted by Ramon "Monxi" Flores, the play will be presented at the new Casa 0101 Theater, 2102 E. First Street (at St. Louis Street), Boyle Heights, CA 90033. Pay What You Can Previews will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 4 and 5, 2013 at 8:00 p.m, followed by a four-week run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 5:00 p.m., September 6 - 29, 2013. Actor Johnny Ortiz (of Highland Park) stars a Carlos Alvarado leading a cast of 19 actors portraying 49 various roles in the play. The cast also features: Sara Aceves (of Boyle Heights) as Liz/Cheerleader; Ramon Acosta (of El Sereno) as Spanky/Chava/Spirit 2; Lauren Ballesteros (of El Monte) as Carlos' Mom/Turtle/Dreamer; Uvaldo Baltazar (of Commerce) as Gordo/Older Homie/Rockabilly/Louie/Fresno Boy; Jaime Calvillo(of Los Angeles) as Tezcatlipoca/Aztec Dancer on September 4, 6, 8, 14, 20, 22 and 28, 2013; Isaac Cruz (of Los Angeles) as Bandit/Cop 2;Claudia Duran (of Van Nuys) as Shorty/Melissa/Bambi; Josh Duron (of Alhambra) as Flaco/Trigger/Priest/Thumper's Dad/Carlos' Son In The Future; Wali Habib (of Northridge) as Boxer/Spirit 5; Angel Lizarraga (of Boyle Heights) as Spirit 3/Sleepy/Sandman's Little Brother; Carmelita Maldonado (of Silver Lake) as Liz' Mom/La Grumpy/Spirit 4; Xolo Mariduena (of Los Angeles) as Young Carlos; Jose "Spider" Martinez (of Los Angeles) as Pancho/Joker/Creeper; Alex Miramontes (of Pico Rivera) as Cop 1; Aurelio Medina (of Boyle Heights) as Sandman/Store Clerk/Spirit 6; Margarita Reyes (of Mar Vista) as Tonalli/Rockabilly Girl/Thumper's Mom; Katie Ventura (of Montebello) as Thumper/Bandit's Mom/Spirit 1; and Victor Yerba (of Los Angeles) as Tezcatlipoca/Aztec Dancer on September 5, 7, 13, 15, 21, 27 and 29, 2013.

Tickets for Preview performances of "Light In The Darkness," to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 4 and 5, 2013 at 8:00 p.m., are Pay What You Can. Tickets to performances of the play to be presented on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. during its four-week run, September 6 - 29, 2013 are $20 for General Admission, $17 for Students, Seniors and Groups of 10 or more, and $15 for Boyle Heights residents with identification.

Theatre patrons can get a $2 discount by presenting their Metro Bus Cards at the Box Office when buying tickets. Metro bus stations are located on First Street in Boyle Heights at both Soto Street, and at Boyle Street (Mariachi Plaza), within a short walking distance to the theatre.
