According to recent reports, Chazz Palminteri's one-man play A Bronx Tale will be playing from September 9-21st in Los Angeles at the Wadsworth Theatre. Palminteri will star and Jerry Zaks will direct.
The limited engagement of A Bronx Tale starring Chazz Palminteri at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre, closed on Sunday, February 24 2008 on a high note, recouping its capitalization and becoming one of the few official "hits" of the 2007-2008 Broadway season despite the stagehands' strike in November, one of Broadway's most lucrative months. The special theatrical event played 19 previews and 108 performances.

Jerry Zaks, A Bronx Tale began previews on October 4, 2007 and opened on October 25. Originally announced to run through February 10, 2008, the run was extended to February 24. A national tour was announced to take place later this year and this announcement in Los Angeles might be the first of many to come.
"In A Bronx Tale, Palminteri brings 18 characters to vivid life, depicting a rough childhood on Bronx streets populated by a cast of friends and enemies," describe press notes.
A Bronx Tale was produced on Broadway by Go Productions. The play was first mounted off-Broadway in 1989 and made into a feature film in 1993.
Chazz Palminteri has over 50 movies to his credit including The Usual Suspects, Bullets over Broadway, Analyze This, Hurly Burly, Mulholland Falls, and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. He has also directed the HBO series Oz (episode, Unnatural Disasters), Showtime's Women vs. Men, and the feature film Noel, starring
Susan Sarandon,
Penelope Cruz,
Robin Williams and Paul Walker. He was last seen on the New York stage in the play The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui starring with
Al Pacino, John Goodman,
Steve Buscemi, and
Billy Crudup.
Jerry Zaks is a four time Tony Award winner and has directed over 30 New York productions. Most recently, he directed Encores!' acclaimed Stairway to Paradise.
