Moth Theatre Presents THE QUARRY, 10/16

By:

The Moth Theatre has announced the world premiere of The Quarry, a new play written and directed by Moth artistic director John Markland, with one preview performance on Friday, October 15 and opening on Saturday, October 16 at 8pm.  The engagement will run through November 14 only.

In The Quarry, a small town teenager is thrown out of his home and left to fend for himself.  His path connects him with three other people who are also trying to let go of the past and find their own way forward.  All of them are precariously standing at the edge of The Quarry.  Some towns are people, the buildings they erect, the stories they tell, and the holes they leave behind.
The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Max Barsness (The Frankenstein Brothers), Nicholas Guest (The Long Riders, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Trading Places), Zachary Shields (The Mistakes Madeline Made and Tough!, both at the Moth Theatre), and Addison Timlin (to be seen in the upcoming season of Californication). The design team includes set by Justin Huen, lighting by Bosco Flanagan, and sound by John Thompson. The production manager is Julanne Jacobs, and the producers for the Moth Theatre are Pamela Guest and Jamie Wollrab.

The Quarry will play one preview performance on Friday, October 15 at 8pm.  Opening night is set for Saturday, October 16 at 8:00. The regular performance schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at 8:00 through November 14. There will no performances over Halloween weekend, Friday 10/29 - Sunday 10/31.  There will be one added matinee on Sunday, November 14 at 2pm.  Tickets for the preview on 10/15 are $5, and all other performances are $15. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting www.brownpapertickets.com/event/126184 or www.moththeatre.com.

On Saturday evenings, the Moth invites patrons to stay and enjoy Night Light, a post-performance social hour with refreshments available for donation, and live music provided by local artists. This new addition to the Moth Theatre experience will allow patrons to discuss the show they have just seen and enjoy the music.

The Moth Theatre is located at 4359 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, 90029. Entrance to the theatre is through the alley in the back, on Heliotrope.  Street parking is available.
