A Night Under The Stars - Revolution! Intrigue! Laughter! Dessert! Lisa Bonet, Cloris Leachman, Amy Madigan, Wendie Malick and Jean Smart star in a staged reading, narrated by Joe Mantegna, of Recipe, a hilarious new play by award-winning playwright Michael Gene Sullivan.

What do a group of middle-aged ex-hippies do to fight the good fight after the “revolution” has long since ended? They bake! But old habits die hard and sometimes baking pies and cakes just isn’t enough to satisfy the burning desire to shake up the establishment.

For one night only, “tune in, turn on, and drop out” with the ladies of The Morning Glory Baking Circle for Revolutionary Self Defense as they mix their special ingredients in a deliciously indulgent comedic romp. This special benefit performance will be preceded by a delicious dessert reception in Theatricum’s gardens, catered by some of Los Angeles’ top bakery and pastry chefs. All proceeds benefit the theater’s performance, new play development and education programs.

The reading takes place tonight, August 26, 2012. Dessert reception at 6:30 pm; performance begins at 8 pm at The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, 1419 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga Calif. (midway between Pacific Coast Highway and the Ventura Freeway).

Call 310-455-3723 or visit www.theatricum.com to purchase tickets, which are
$100. Ticket includes a pre-show dessert reception.

The outdoor amphitheater at The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum is terraced into the hillside of the rustic canyon and is home to the oldest Shakespearean Repertory Company in Los Angeles. Audience members are advised to dress casually and bring cushions for bench seating. Refreshments are available at the venue, and picnickers are welcome before the performance.
