La Jolla Playhouse Reschedules 'Diamonds' Gala to Dec.8
Due to the recent wildfires in San Diego County, La Jolla Playhouse announced today that their 2007 "Diamonds Are Forever" Gala, originally scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2007, has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 8, 2007. This year's special gala is designed as a celebration of both La Jolla Playhouse's 60th anniversary, as well as a tribute to Director Emeritus Des McAnuff.
The Playhouse has taken a first step in assisting San Diegans by donating the lavish flower arrangements intended for the gala to evacuation centers and hospitals throughout the county in hopes of helping console anyone displaced or injured by the fires.
La Jolla Playhouse is also working on developing a plan to extend 1,000 complimentary tickets to first responders and victims. Other plans for future aid are in the works and will be announced by the Playhouse at a later date.
