LETTERS TO EVE – A Powerful New Musical of Untold Stories from WWII Comes to Santa Monica

By:

Letters To Eve is a 7-year labor of love for writer Daniel Sugimoto, he started writing this story for his grandmother, Midori Sugimoto, who grew up in an American Concentration Camp. Even through their incarceration these Japanese Americans continued on living, loving, and laughing, which is the soul of Letters To Eve. Sugimoto's curiosity with WWII brought him to uncover other fascinating stories that he has woven into this epic musical; including an African American artist imprisoned in a German Concentration camp, and the concealed struggles Jewish women faced. In world's current political situations there are flickers of history repeating, and it is important to hear the lessons of the past to make a better future.

Watch the journey of these forgotten heroes in a four-week run brought to you by The Zoo Theatre Co. at The Miles Playhouse, 1130 Lincoln Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90403. Performances run May 25th-June 18th.

This "fascinating work of art" (Broadway World) by Sugimoto made it's world premiere in November 2016 with incredible responses from critics and audiences. "Not only is he a triple threat onstage as well as a brilliant musical director, his skill with composing musical numbers that movingly tell a story imbues each of his characters with deep-felt heart and soul through his incredible imagination and understanding of human nature." Shari Barrett, Broadway World. Read the full Broadway World LA review here.
