Frank Wood will reprise his Tony Award winning role as jazz trumpeter Gene in the L.A. Theatre Works Productions of Warren Leight's SIDE MAN, May 12 through 16.

SIDE MAN will be presented as part of "The Play's the Thing" series at Skirball Cultural Center. The production will be directed by Stephen Sachs.

The cast will feature Scott Wolf as Gene's son Clifford. Complete casting has yet to be announced.

The original 1998 Off-Off-Broadway production of SIDE MAN was directed by Michael Mayer, the production moved to Broadway and won a Tony Award for Best Play. The play was also nominated for the Pulizer Prize.

Frank Wood was last seen on Broadway in 2008's AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. Wood has appeared in many films and TV show, most notably he plays Greg on the HBO series 'Flight of the Concords.'

SIDE MAN will be recorded and broadcast on L.A. Theatre Works's nationally syndicated radio theatre series, 'The Play's the Thing.'
