LA Phil Wins ASCAP's Award for Innovative Programming

On Friday, June 18, 2010, the Los Angeles Philharmonic was awarded the Morton Gould Award for Innovative Programming as part of the 2009-2010 ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming presented at the League of American Orchestra's 65th National Conference in Atlanta, GA. The LA Phil is one of 27 American orchestras to be honored with a 2009-2010 ASCAP Award. The League and ASCAP present the awards each year to orchestras of all sizes for programs that challenge the audience, build the repertoire, and increase interest in music of our time. More than a million dollars have been bestowed on orchestras since the awards were established in 1947.

Los Angeles Philharmonic President Deborah Borda commented, "It is an honor to be the recipient of such a distinguished award.
