L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center to Host 8th Annual Cinco de Mayo Tequila Festival, 5/3

By:

The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Cinco de Mayo tradition is back and BIGGER, BETTER and JUICIER than ever! All Los Angelenos of legal drinking age are welcome to come out and learn about tequila's rich history, how it is produced, and how to enjoy its very diverse and complex flavors. The 8th Annual Cinco de Mayo Tequila Festival will take place on Saturday, May 3, from 5 - 9 p.m. at the Center's Village at Ed Gould Plaza in Hollywood.

Workshops will be presented by long-time instructors and tequila aficionados, Joe and Glenda Aiello. Festival attendees will learn everything they ever wanted to know about tequila while enjoying this rare opportunity to sample more than 50 different juices, including the following brands: 1800, Arta Tequila, Cabo Wabo, Cocula, Jose Cuervo, El Llano, Espolon, Gran Centenario, Grand Leyenda, Maestro Dobel, Mala Noche, Meloza, Pochteca, Sacrificio, Sin Rival, Sino Tequila, Los Tres Tonos, Turque Tequila, and Tequila Tierras. The festival will also feature small group tasting sessions, food vendors, and giveaways.

Unlike other tequila festivals, this event is an educational event presented by Learning Curve, the Center's Adult Education & Personal Enrichment Program. All proceeds will support the Center's 80+ programs which are offered in an effort to support and empower Southern California's LGBT community.

Everyone over 21, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, is welcome to attend and participate in this fun and educational event.
