Jason Robert Winfield to Perform Alan Watts at Silver Lake Public Library
On Thursday, July 21st at 6PM, LA based actor Jason Robert Winfield will be performing at and supporting the Silver Lake Public Library with a free performance of his solo show, Myth of Myself - An Evening with Alan Watts.
After hearing an entertaining and inspiring old recording of British Philosopher Alan Watts lecturing on western consciousness, nature and man, Jason Robert Winfield set out, with the ingenious help of director Jenn Dees, to bring Watt's lecture from the 1960s back to life again, but this time as a playful and interactive piece of theatre.
Performed word-for-word and utilizing walking, exercises and the environment, Jason both literally and figuratively weaves audiences in and out of "site-un-specific" spaces all while juggling the still prescient words of self-proclaimed philosophical entertainer Alan Watts.
