JACCC Presents A Robot Trifecta 6/26 & A Celebration Of Heroes 6/28

By:

JACCC presents A Robot Trifecta! June 26 7:30-11pm and the 29th anniversary celebration and awards dinner "A Celebration of Heroes" June 28 at 4:30pm.

Founded in 1971, the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center is one of the largest ethnic arts and cultural centers of its kind in the United States.

The mission of the JACCC is to present, perpetuate, transmit and promote Japanese and Japanese American arts and culture to diverse audiences, and to provide a center to enhance community programs.

The Japanese American Cultural and Community Center is the preeminent presenter of Japanese and Japanese American, and Asian American performing and visual arts nationally.

A Robot Trifecta! is a triple screening of our favorite robots-Astro Boy, Gigantor, and Voltron. This outdoor screening features Astro Boy (1963), the first anime series to be broadcast on TV in Japan, Gigantor (1964), set in the future year of 2000, and Voltron: Defender of the Universe (1984) which will be screened to a live soundtrack by DJ's Rani D, Akaider, and Refine. Bring a blanket, bring a basket, bring friends, and enjoy an early summer's eve screening in the heart of Little Tokyo on Friday, June 26, 2009.

The JACCC honors those who have made significant contributions to our organization and community. This year we honor Masi Oka from the hit television series "Heroes," Archie Miyatake of Toyo Miyatake Photography Studio, and other community heroes.
