International 3D Society Creative Arts Awards to Occur at Chinese Theatre

International 3D Society Awards Co-Chair Lenny Lipton announced today that fifteen 3D categories have been selected for the third annual I3DS Creative Arts Awards Show to be held from 7-9 pm on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Chinese Theatre.

"The theme for the evening is ‘Your World in 3D.' We think this is a timely theme given the proliferation of 3D from the theater to the home and most recently to mobile."
The Annual 3D Creative Arts Awards Show will feature celebrity red carpet arrivals and the awards ceremony, as well as highlights of upcoming 3D productions. The growing 3D viewers at home will watch on 3net, the 24/7 3D network from Sony, Discovery and IMAX, while the audience at the event will use XPAND 3D's active shutter glasses.

The Society will honor and recognize the best in 3D theatrical, television and videogame productions. The Society serves the 3D community with education for stereoscopic 3D professionals.

"I3DS has created industry and public awareness of three-dimensional media with its annual Creative Arts Awards Show. The creative people in motion pictures, television, and advertising, who have made the best use of 3D, will be recognized for their achievements by their peers and the public," said Lipton.

Jim Chabin, president of the International 3D Society, stated, "This year's 3D films, TV and other content platforms are achieving extraordinary new levels of artistic and technical quality. The Society's Awards will be the opportunity for us all to recognize the creative professionals and organizations responsible and record for history this year's accomplishments."
