Grove Theatre Presents 'The Little Mermaid', 8/21

The Grove Theatre will be introducing two new productions, "Tuesdays with Morrie" and Disney's "The Little Mermaid" to its lineup this month. "Tuesdays with Morrie" opens on August 13. "The Little Mermaid" opens August 21.

Millions of people know sportswriter Mitch Albom from his nationally syndicated Detroit Free Press column. In 1997, his inspirational memoir became an international bestseller. In 2002, with popular playwright Jeffrey Hatcher, Albom adapted the book for the stage. "Tuesdays with Morrie" is the autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie's appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig's Disease. Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life. "Tuesdays with Morrie" explores culture, family, and the meaning of life and features veteran local actor, Duane Thomas and Terre Gunkel.

"Tuesdays with Morrie" will be performed Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 2PM. Tickets are $25 and $20 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office at (909) 920-4343, or by visiting The Grove's website at http://www.grovetheatre.com.

The Little Mermaid

On mermaid Ariel's fifteenth birthday she is given the right of passage to go to the surface of the sea and explore the beauty of the human world. However, when Ariel falls in love with a human prince, she makes a deal with the evil Sea-Witch in order to become human. But this deal is only the beginning of the Sea-Witch's treacherous plot to rule the ocean. Will Ariel be able to save herself and her family from the evil Sea-Witch all while winning the heart of a handsome prince? Come see The Little Mermaid and find out how Ariel gets her happily ever after.

"The Little Mermaid" will be performed on Saturdays and Sundays at 2PM.Tickets to see The Little Mermaid, are $10 for adults and $8 for students and children, and can be purchased by calling (909) 920-4343, going to the box office, or by visiting The Grove's website at http://www.grovetheatre.com.
