Grove Theatre Presents SOUNDS OF GOSPEL, 8/27-28

By:

The Grove Theatre invites you to join us Friday and Saturday, August 27th and 28th for "The Sounds of Gospel Celebration", an weekend of music for the soul.

In May, the Grove's evening of gospel with Sherry Kinison, gospel singer, recording artist and owner of the Grove Theatre, and invited guest performers was a resounding success. A weekend of gospel is now being presented, hosted by Sherry Kinison and featuring the bands Kings and Priests, the Royal Blues Band and Forgiven. Manuel Salinas will also perform on the piano.

Kings and Priests is a unique, exciting and fast-rising Christian band. The blend of Latin, R&B, jazz, rock and blues, enables Kings and Priests to fill a need, performing in venues where standard gospel music may not easily be accepted.  Formed in 1994, the band uses music as an evangelistic tool, taking full advantage of every opportunity to bring the message of salvation to those who are lost and hurting.

The Royal Blues Band was developed with a mission to serve God through their musical talents, a desire to reach out to people searching for a Godly solution to life's challenges and a passion to play the "Blues".  Originally formed in 1998; the seven piece band was brought together through personal and professional relationships.  They've been ministering to audiences all over Southern California; performing with some of the Christian Community's most highly regarded artists. They continue to fill their calendar by ministering at outreaches, biker rallies, retreats, festivals, car shows, concerts in the parks, restaurants and fairs.

Forgiven is a Christian Outreach Band, home-based in Chino, California. The group's focus is on delivering the word of the Gospel through the lyrics of contemporary music. Forgiven's members are from different churches and are all members of their respective churches' praise and worship ministries. Started in July of 2009, the group seeks to deliver inspirational music that the masses will accept. Choosing jazz, Latin jazz, Funk, Blues, and Rhythm and Blues as their vehicle, they accomplish the mission with high energy. Forgiven consistently performs at retreats, conventions, motorcycle shows, car shows, concerts, churches, community fairs and festivals. It is their mission to celebrate Jesus.

These groups are coming together to make this a weekend of music to lift you up, and it is one not to be missed. Tickets are $12 general admission for each evening, $20 for both evenings. Tickets can be purchased by calling (909) 920-4343, or by visiting The Grove box office or website at http://www.grovetheatre.com. Join us for a wonderful evening of celebration for family and friends.
