Garry Marshall Theatre Bids Farewell To Executive Director Sherry Greczmiel

After its 2017 transition to nonprofit status and the launching of its Inaugural Season, the Board of Directors announces the departure of Sherry Greczmiel as Executive Director of the Garry Marshall Theatre. This follows her 15-year history with Marshall's commercial venture - as a producer for the former Falcon Theatre.

Greczmiel graduated to Executive Director in the spring of 2017 and played an integral part in the transition to the theatre's legacy-building future. As Executive Director, Greczmiel oversaw the inaugural year's MainStage subscription series, this summer's collaboration of Wood Boy Dog Fish with Rogue Artists Ensemble, and helmed the operations of programming the 130-seat venue. The Marshall family, the Board of Directors, and the theatre's staff wish Greczmiel a bold next chapter and are grateful for her tenure and her tremendous commitment in shepherding a successful transition into the nonprofit arena.

With the Board of Directors (Kathleen LaGambina, Heather Hall, Scott Kay and Joan Boyett), Barbara Marshall (Board President and wife of the late Hollywood icon) is actively searching for an experienced nonprofit Managing Director to lead the charge in fundraising, development, and brand-building while guiding the theatre in the ever-changing business trends of nonprofit live performance. Alongside the Artistic team of Dimitri Toscas and Joseph Leo Bwarie, the Managing Director will play a major role in the continuation of programming including: the education and outreach series for families aptly titled marshallARTS; the film screening series "Movies at the Marshall"; a live music and media series; the New Works Festival (giving a platform to burgeoning playwrights); and "Modern Masters" (which previously included TV legend Norman Lear and Oscar-winning Makeup Artist Michael Westmore) alongside the MainStage production line-up.

Bwarie and Toscas are finalizing plans for an exciting second season - one that will continue to enhance and define the Garry Marshall Theatre mission with great focus on serving the LA theatre community. The intimate space will continue to make way for new artists and new audiences that will join a roster of past creative forces and a treasured subscriber base who proudly support the legacy of the theatre's founder.
