Fringe Theatre Company Premieres 'Evening of Autobiographical Stories' SETTING THE RECORD GAY, 6/13

By:

Fringe Theatre Company will present Setting The Record Gay, an evening of autobiographical stories told from the gay perspective at the Avery Schreiber Playhouse, 4934 Lankershim Boulevard, North
Hollywood, CA 91601.

Setting The Record Gay opens Friday, June 13th and runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. through July 12th (no shows on Fri 6/27, Sun 6/29 and Sun 7/6). All tickets are $20. Presented by Fringe Theatre Company at the Avery Schreiber Playhouse, 4934 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA 91601. To purchase tickets go to www.fringetheatreco.com

Based on a concept called Bare Naked Angels created by Stacy Ann Raposa, Director Dodd led four gay
men on a writing journey that ultimately produced the show you will see on stage. Says Dodd, "Gays want
and need the world to understand them deeper and better. Setting The Record Gay is fun, insightful and
important for audiences who want to learn more about what it's like living in the gay skin. Gays occupy
the straight world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; take a step into our world for a few hours, and get to
know us better."

Setting The Record Gay is Storytelling Theater at its best. Crafted from a 2 month writing process,
multi-generational gay men recall their personal journeys and gay rites of passage. With comedy,
dramedy and a touch of insight, these Artists strive to school the heterosexual audience in Homo 101.
Beyond headlines, politics and stereotypes, real gays talk about what it's like to play for the "other team."

Director Dodd promises an evening of humor and insight into the reality of the Gay Experience, giving
audience members the opportunity to leave the performance more enlightened than when they walked
in.

Setting The Record Gay is written and performed by Leon Acord, Misha Fisher, Wenzel Jones & Billy
Walker and Directed by Dodd.
