Douglas Ladnier Performs 'I'm Your Man' at Arthur Newman Theatre, 8/21
Award winning and critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, Douglas Ladnier, who's appeared in more than 60 countries around the world, will bring his show "I'm Your Man" to Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 7 PM. A favorite in the Broadway By The Year series at Town Hall where The New York Times hailed him simply as "The best," and Rex Reed raved in The New York Observer, "This guy's melting baritone could single-handedly revive the art of the ballad, the love song and the heart-breaker."
Some of Mr. Ladnier's theatre credits include Broadway's Jekyll & Hyde and lead roles in regional productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, Gigi, The Sound Of Music, Into The Woods, Dracula, Chess, The Mystery Of Edwin Drood, and Phantom, to name a feW. Douglas' film credits include Eric Schaffer's Never Again, and on TV he had a re-occurring role on All My Children. In 2007 he won the New York City Bistro Award for outstanding male vocalist. Most recently, Douglas has been touring the US promoting his new CD, a collection of spirituals and hymns entitled, "Shades of Light" along with his first CD "Mostly Broadway".
In this Desert concert debut, Douglas Ladnier's show entitled "I'm Your Man," will feature some of the most beautiful love songs from South Pacific, Les Miserables, A Little Night Music, Man of La Mancha, plus unforgettable songs by Peggy Lee, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Leonard Cohen and many, more. Joining Douglas on the piano will be acclaimed musical director and arranger, and now a local resident, Christopher Marlowe.
