Cruthaigh Productions' MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING Closes 3/15

By:

Cruthaigh Productions' Much Ado About Nothing directed by Josh Gren, will close on March 15, 2010. Bringing Shakespeare out of the Elizabethan era and into the post-World War II era, Cruthaigh's production offers a fresh take on a classic work by integrating live songs, swing dancing, and musical instrument performance into the text -- all of which is handled by the actors.

Much Ado About Nothing tells the story of soldiers returning from war, and the love, tears, mistaken identity, deception, and laughter that follows. The cast is made up of talented young actors including Sean Naughton (Benedick), founder of Guerilla Shakespeare at Chapman University, and Tara Donovan (Beatrice), the Producing Artistic Director of Cruthaigh Productions.

At the heart of Cruthaigh's production is the notion that war, and its aftermath, can create dire consequences. However, Cruthaigh strives to instill hope through this production by teaching that, no matter how dark moments in life may feel, we can always find solace in music, dance, and love.

This is a special guest production of the Promenade Playhouse, located at 1404 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica, CA
