Hunter Long Fox spent a lot of his time growing up in Luray, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley with his grandmother and great grandmother. They grew their own vegetables, butchered meat, raised chickens and made their own butter with fresh milk that was delivered a few times a week. Hunter was taught the value in raising an animal from birth to table and in knowing how to grow vegetables from just seedlings through canning for winter use. Raised to respect life he learned to value the process of creating food dishes grown self-sufficiently.

He also spent time on the Potomac River in historic Southern Maryland with his Mother and sisters on St Georges Island; fishing, crabbing, shucking and seeding oysters. His mother was a chef and caterer and was the most influential in Hunter's work in the kitchen.

Hunter moved to California in the early 90's and has worked in restaurants from San Francisco to Sonoma Co. to Los Angeles. He's been influenced by some amazing chefs throughout his life.

He and his husband opened Hunter & Charlie's in Hollywood in hopes of making a difference in their community. They make good country style food that is fresh, local, healthy and some perhaps not so healthy... Slow roasted meats, stews, and soups. Fresh salads. All of their sausages are made in-house by hand. Their menu is especially inspired by the city of Los Angeles! With Korean, Italian, Romanian, Mexican, and Californian influences... Hunter & Charlie's embraces all the state has to offer.

THE MEATBALL CHRONICLES returns to Los Angeles March 29 - April 14, 2019, at the Hudson Guild Theatre (6539 Santa Monica Blvd. Hollywood 90038). Performances are Friday & Saturday 8PM and Sunday 3PM.Tickets are $30 and available at: http://www.onstage411.com/meatball
