Grove Theater Center (GTC) will present A Christmas Carol, an adaptation that uses only Charles Dickens' original words, from tonight, November 22 to December 20 at 1111-b West Olive, Burbank, California. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $34.50 general; $29.50 Burbank residents; $24.50 for seniors and students. No show on November 28; one additional performance on December 18. Pay-what-you-can performances are on November 29 and 30.

The play is adapted by GTC's artistic director and co-founder, Kevin Cochran who will also direct this production. Plays he directed at GTC include Blake...da Musical, Film Chinois, R.R.R.E.D, The Adding Machine, and The Beckett Project II. Off-Broadway credits include Eternal Equinox, Lightin' Out, Offending Shadows, and The Gospel According to Omaha. He wrote and directed Bobby & Matt, presented at The Players Theatre.

The cast includes Jenna Augen, winner of the 2014 UK Theatre Award for Supporting Performance; Broadway veteran David Allen Jones; and Frank Simons; all appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity Association.

They will guide the audience through the story -- as storytellers; or as Dickens' beloved characters, including Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, Marley's Ghost, Scrooge and the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present & Future -- but always using the actual words of Charles Dickens' 1843 classic.

The set and costumes are by three-time Ovation nominee Leonard Ogden. Lighting is by David Darwin, a 2014 Ovation nominee for this show.
