Cast Announced For Mother's Day Show At Rockwell

A Classic Broadway Mother's Day, special Mother's Day performance of the ongoing concert series An Evening of Classic Broadway, now in its 5th year, takes place on Sunday, May 13th at Rockwell Table and Stage in Los Angeles. Doors open at 4:30 for the 6PM show. Music Director/Master of Ceremonies Brad Ellis and Presenter Fraser Entertainment Group showcase a new cast with each performance, this one consisting of parents and their offspring.

Scheduled to perform on May 13th are Kim Huber (Disney's Beauty and the Beast ("Belle"), Broadway - Sunset Boulevard Marie Christine - Broadway, Los Angeles World Premieres - The Marvelous Wonderettes ("Missy"/Ovation Award Nomination), Having it All ("Lizzie"/Ovation Award Nomination), Roger Befeler (Disney's Beauty and the Beast ("the Beast") - 1st National tour, Les Misérables ("Enjolras") - National Tour, The Phantom of the Opera ("Raoul") - National Tour), Paige Befeler (graduating senior - Cleveland High School Humanities Magnet, rising freshman - Wellesley College. Professional stage productions - Annie (with Andrea McCardle) and The Sound of Music (With Terrance Mann), Benny Lipson (multi-instrumentalist who has performed with Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Barry Manilow, and Ben Folds in Jazz at Lincoln Center, at The Hollywood Bowl and Disney Concert Hall. With his twin brother, Jack he co-spearheads the project jackbenny, and they perform their original material in residency at the Lyric Hyperion Theater), Jack Lipson (music director of the Wyoming Theater Festival, developed and wrote arrangements for playwright Mark Saltzman's Another Roll of the Dice and Romeo & Bernadette. The Festival also presented a reading of Miranda, Please!, an original "musicalette" Jack wrote with his twin brother, Benny, with whom he also arranged Burton Lane & Ralph Freed's "How About You" for Lifetime's holiday special Snowed Inn Christmas), Valerie Perri (The Graduate - Laguna Playhouse with Melanie Griffith, title role in Evita - Broadway National Company, Jerome Robbins' Broadway - Broadway National Company, Sunset Boulevard ("Norma Desmond") - Musical Theatre West, Hello, Dolly! ("Dolly Levi") - 3D Theatricals, recipient of the John Raitt Award for her cabaret show with David Burnham, Concert Performances from Walt Disney Hall to Carnegie Hall, Frankfurt's Opera House and London's Palladium, recorded the solo album Sweet Conversation),

Nita Whitaker (Broad Theatre, Alliance, Arena Stage - Born for This, world premiere musicals Ragtime, The Ten Commandments, the Musical and Breaking Through. A favorite singer of David Foster, Nita has performed with some of the world's greatest voices, including Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Chris Botti, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bolton, Patti Austin and Broadway legend Ben Vereen. Hall of Fame Star Search Grand Champion Winner, she penned an award-winning memoir, recorded 4 albums and started the non-profit In a World With Books which has given roughly 5800 new books to underserved children), Skye LaFontaine (actor/singer since the age of 2 performing in nearly 20 musicals and plays before high school was completed. Cal Arts Theater Alum, directed/co-produced 4 plays and a musical, Rent Unplugged, in which she was also a cast member. Skye performed at The Skylight Theater in a tribute to one of her directing mentors Gary Grossman, and has performed with her mother Nita Whitaker on various stages across the nation).

Rockwell Table and Stage is located at 1714 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles 90027. Doors open at 4:30 with the show beginning at 6PM. Valet (behind the restaurant) and street parking available. Seating is fixed. Patrons will be assigned a seat but can adjust when purchasing online. It's an intimate venue with close seating quarters which tries to accommodate as many patrons as possible, so be prepared to make new friends. Please note that it may not be possible to change or combine parties once you've chosen your seats and purchased your tickets. While performances at Rockwell Table and Stage are not restricted to 21+, many shows include mature content, and patrons under the age of 21 are prohibited by law from sitting in certain areas of the venue. Subject to availability, tickets may also be available for purchase at the door.
