Little Fish Theatre today announced the opening of the second show of its 2013 season, Neil Simon's, CHAPTER TWO. A semi-autobiographical story about Simon's romance with actress Marsha Mason, this charming story about love "the second time around" is considered one of Simon's most poignant and endearing comedies.

The story is told from the perspectives of both reluctant would-be lovers - he struggling with grief over the recent passing of his one true love, and she working through the guilt and shame of divorce. When close friends intervene to introduce them, both are expecting a disaster. But, as love would have it, they discover a mutual affection for high-brow banter and a strong emotional connection, which turns into inevitable romance. As their relationship progresses, they run into new challenges, realizing they will have to work together to clear out the emotional garbage that could keep them apart.

CHAPTER TWO will star Richard Perloff and Trisha Miller as George Schneider and Jennie Malone, and feature Dana Pollak and Tony Cicchetti as their well-intentioned but easily distracted friends. "This classic Simon play about love and second chances raises uncomfortable truths with irresistible humor," notes Director Patrick Vest. "The play takes us through emotions we have all experienced, giving us the opportunity to laugh at ourselves as we struggle along with these four characters." Vest is a founding member of Little Fish Theatre, and directed some of the company's earliest productions, readings of THE WAGER and BEYOND THERAPY.

The play will run Fridays and Saturdays March 8 & 9, 15 & 16, 29 & 30 and April 5 & 6 at 8pm. Mid-week performances will be presented Wednesday March 20 and Thursdays March 21 and April 4 at 8pm. A Sunday matinee is scheduled for 2pm on March 24, after which the creative team will be available for 10 to 15 minutes for post-show discussion. Following two very successful productions, the critically acclaimed crowd favorite PRESENT LAUGHTER, and the perennially popular PICK OF THE VINE, which sold out nearly every performance, CHAPTER TWO is likely to be another big hit with LITTLE FISH audiences.

Founded in 2002, LITTLE FISH THEATRE presents classic and contemporary plays in an intimate setting on Centre Street in downtown San Pedro. Producing eleven plays each year for a one-room 65-seat venue, LITTLE FISH delivers the quintessential close-up theatrical experience, where audience and performers share space and sight-lines, making for eruptive laughter, highly-charged action and palpable emotion.
