Bramwell Tovey Leads the LA Phil and LAMC in Mozart's Requiem 9/13

Bramwell Tovey brings the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Tuesday Classical series to a conclusion, marking the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with Mozart's choral masterpiece, his Requiem, Tuesday, September 13, at 8 pm. Performing Mozart's final composition are soprano Heidi Stober, mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey, tenor Nicholas Phan, bass Matthew Rose, as well as the Los Angeles Master Chorale (LAMC). The program also includes Bernstein's Chichester Psalms featuring boy alto Caleb Glickman and the LAMC.
Grammy award-winning conductor Bramwell Tovey is acknowledged around the world for his artistic depth as well as his warm, charismatic personality on the podium. His career as a conductor is uniquely enhanced by his work as a composer and pianist, lending him a remarkable musical perspective. His tenures as music director with the Vancouver Symphony, Luxembourg Philharmonic and Winnipeg Symphony Orchestras have been characterized by his expertise in operatic, choral, British and contemporary repertoire. Tovey, who is entering 12th season as Music Director of the Vancouver Symphony, also continues as founding host and conductor of the New York Philharmonic's Summertime Classics series at Avery Fisher Hall.American soprano Heidi Stober makes her Metropolitan Opera debut this season as Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel. She is an ensemble member with Deutsche Oper Berlin and has appeared there in productions of Die Zauberflöte (Pamina), Hänsel und Gretel (Gretel), and Un ballo in Maschera (Oscar), among others.
