Bespoke Plays Monthly Reading Series Continues With SOURCES
![]()
Fresh off his New York Innovative Theater Award for best actor, Ryan McCurdy (Greencard Wedding) will make his Los Angeles debut alongside Ellie Pyle, in her play SOURCES, under the direction of Alan Smyth on October 26 at 8 p.m. and October 28 at 6:30 p.m. at The Pico (10508 Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064).
SOURCES is an intimate negotiation of complex conflicts of interest, that begins in the early morning after the 2016 election, when a successful journalist receives a call from a corporate programmer who may or may not have invented an algorithm that can remove anonymity from the internet.
Bespoke Plays is a monthly reading series produced by Christine Boylan and other local writers. Their mission is to offer play readings customized to the goals of the writer and readiness of the play, for Los Angeles writers with diverse stories and worldviews, while supporting local charities and nonprofits.
Tickets for Sources are $10 (50% of which will go to benefit Planned Parenthood) and can be reserved at: https://sources-bespokeplays.bpt.me. Please join us after the show for a drink (15% off) at The Stalking Horse Brewery and Freehouse.
As this is its third reading, Sources is considered "industry ready." Directors, producers and agents can request industry comps by emailing the address below. (This is at the discretion of the playwright and will not necessarily be the case for future readings as we read work in a variety of stages). Bespoke Plays has an open submission policy for actors and directors. For more information, email BespokePlays@gmail.com.
