Arts Off Broadway, the community and youth theatre founded in 2001, continues its season February 20-27 with the high-energy production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat," Andrew Lloyd Weber's Broadway extravaganza, with a cast of up to100 comprised of AOB voice trained workshop participants.

All interested youth ages 7 to 15 are encouraged to audition for the "Joseph..." workshop. The fun filled Old Testament tale is a timeless story with a cornucopia of musical styles from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll.

Everyone who auditions is included in the training process and performs in the show. Auditions take place at 10AM, Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido (CCAE), 340 North Escondido Boulevard, Escondido, CA 92025 in Studio III. Workshops and rehearsal dates are Saturday 1/30, 2/6 and 2/13 at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Production week for "Joseph" begins on Monday, February 15 through opening performance on 2/20/10. Public performances at the CCAE occur February 20, 21, 26 and 27, 2010.

Participants should come prepared to sing the first verse of "America the Beautiful" without accompaniment and one other song of their choice, as well as a current photo that can be kept by AOB. The registration cost is $75 and includes priority-seating tickets with a membership discount to the performances and a t-shirt. Sibling discounts, payment plans and scholarships available.
