Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts and the Atlantic Wind Symphony celebrate the legacy of John Philip Sousa (1854-1932) with another magnificent concert. Sousa was an American composer and conductor known particularly for American military and patriotic marches such as “The Star and Stripes Forever”. In the 1920’s, John Philip Sousa, known as “The March King” played right here at Patchogue Theatre on July 23, 1923 and a year later June 23, 1924.
Come celebrate his unique music played from the original scores by a symphonic band very much like his own. The 50-piece band features many accomplished musicians who call Long Island their home. You will enjoy all the familiar marches and many melodies that spark the patriotic note in any ones heart.
