Jimmy Smits to Host 20th Anniversary Pink Soiree Gala

The Greater New York City Affiliate of Komen for the Cure® is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a Pink Soirée honoring Blythe Masters and JPMorgan Chase for their support of the organization.

Emmy® and Golden Globe® winning actor Jimmy Smits will host the gala evening. In addition, there will be Special Celebrity Presentations. Celebrities & VIPS confirmed to appear include:

Jimmy Smits, Emmy® and Golden Globe® winning actor
Christopher Meloni, Star of the hit series Law & Order, SVU
Tinsley Mortimer, Socialite and fashion entrepreneur
Paula Zahn, Host of the hit series, On The Case with Paula Zahn
Maurice Dubois, WCBS 2 Anchor and Komen Greater NYC Board member.
Blythe Masters, Head of Global Commodities, JP Morgan Chase
Dr. Dara Richardson-Heron, CEO, Susan G. Komen For the Cure of Greater New York City

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: Founded in 1990, Komen Greater NYC has raised over $50 million to date. The organization is dedicated to the greater New York City
metropolitan area, disbursing up to 75 percent of its net income to local programs offering breast health education, screening and treatment in the five boroughs of
New York City, on Long Island and in Westchester and Rockland Counties. Twenty-five percent of all revenues fund national peer-reviewed research programs.

In 2010, Komen Greater NYC awarded $4.3 million in grants - $3 million supporting 37 community-based organizations and three hospitals that provide breast health
programs to local underserved women and over $1.3 million underwriting national peer-reviewed research projects to find the cures.
