Chanticleer Performs at WHBPAC Tonight

Enjoy holiday harmonies as "the world's reigning male chorus" (New Yorker) Chanticleer performs at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center tonight, December 7 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $100 - $60 and can be purchased online at www.whbpac.org.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Chanticleer is back performing their beloved holiday program amid the rich acoustics and plush interior of the WHBPAC. These twelve lush voices bring trademark precision and inspiration to centuries of holiday repertoire, including rarities of Gregorian chant, American gospel classics, and plenty of venturesome new music.

Praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for their "tonal luxuriance and crisply etched clarity," Chanticleer - based in San Francisco - is known around the world as "an orchestra of voices" for the seamless blend of its twelve male voices ranging from countertenor to bass and its original interpretations of vocal literature, from Renaissance to jazz, and from gospel to venturesome new music.

Chanticleer's most recent addition to its catalogue of best-selling Christmas CD's is Our Favorite Carols. "A Chanticleer Christmas" is broadcast annually on over 300 affiliated public radio stations nationwide. New this season is a new studio recording, By Request, an eclectic selection of music requested by audiences, from Byrd to indie-pop. Chanticleer also releases a live recording of its current tour program on its Chanticleer Live in Concert (CLIC) series, this year The Siren's Call.
