Broadway In The Hood brought down the house during the Nevada Sesquicentennial Celebration at The Smith Center on Monday night, September 22 in Las Vegas. With performances by Jerry Lewis, Susan Anton, Human Nature, Cirque Du Soleil, Clint Holmes, the cast of Jersey Boys, and even "Mr. Las Vegas" Wayne Newton himself, could not outshine their performance of "Brand New Day" from the hit Broadway Musical "The Wiz". Wayne Newton raves "Broadway In The Hoods performance was one of the highlights of the evening." Their performance included a celebration of integration and a tribute to the Moulin Rouge one of the first integrated hotels in the United States.
With a tribute to Josephine Baker by (Alita Requena), voiceovers by Dr. Maya Angelou and Dr. Martin Luther King and what seem to be a cast of 1000's of talented performers, Broadway In The Hood truly shined brite amongst the stars at the largest one-night-only gathering of celebrities and stars in Nevada's 150-year history.
