Kenny Chesney, the high energy country star who has played to over a million fans each of the past eight summers and who regularly sells out NFL stadiums, offers fans a never seen before, hard-hitting and far more intimate take on his concert experience with Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D, shot in 3D and featuring state-of-the-art digital sound. Sony Pictures Releasing's special programming division The Hot Ticket presents the limited engagement film beginning April 21 through May 2 in movies theatres nationwide.

Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D will premiere at a gala red carpet event on April 17 in Las Vegas at the Rave Town Square 18 Cinemas. Chesney will be on hand to present the concert film, which also incorporates archival footage, still pictures and unguarded backstage moments with his own reflections on the fans, memories made and the motivation he draws on. The event will stream live at www.KennyChesneyMovie.com or at www.Ustream.tv/kennychesney3d.

The evening following the premiere, Chesney performs at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where the 4-time Entertainer of the Year is nominated for 4 more awards: Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Vocal Event for "I'm Alive" with Dave Matthews and producing that single.

Commenting on the announcement, Rory Bruer, president, worldwide distribution, Sony Pictures Releasing, said, "Nothing says summer like a Kenny Chesney concert, so it's a real thrill to be kicking off the summer movie going season with Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D. You can't beat seeing Kenny live, but since the man famous for his summer concerts is not staging a major concert tour, this is the next best thing to being in an actual stadium with him and we are proud that The Hot Ticket is presenting this unique and intimate experience with one of the world's most popular performers."

Chesney said, "I stand on those stages every night - and I can't believe the energy those fans bring night after night. But watching all the footage that went into this film, it's amazing to see this show not just from the Goodyear blimp, all over the stadium, but literally from the band's perspective. Seeing that made me want to bring people even further into who I am and what this journey has been made of. To see this, it's not just the excitement of one of the shows, it's a real sense of who I am, how I got here and what the fans mean to me."

Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D is directed by Joe Thomas, a music industry veteran who has recorded such artists ranging from Billy Idol to Paul McCartney to BrIan Wilson to Elton John, and as director and producer, has shot over 100 concerts, including Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews, Tom Petty, in high definition and digital surround sound. The movie was shot in stereoscopic 3D by 3ality Digital, the company that produced and shot the groundbreaking U2 3D concert film, and which recently produced the first live 3D concert simulcast in the US with The Black Eyed Peas: all seminal music projects that were supervised by 3ality Digital's head of production and veteran 3D producer/director TEd Kenney.

Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D gives the fans the chance to live the fun, the friends, the songs and the moments that make Kenny Chesney the must-see concert experience once again. Filmed over six nights in five locations - Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Seattle, Foxboro, and Indianapolis - during his million-plus tickets sold Sun City Carnival Tour, it's a whole new perspective on the man known for "Living in Fast Forward," "I Go Back," "When the Sun Goes Down," "Beer In Mexico," "The Good Stuff," "Summertime" and "Better As A Memory."

The 4-time Country Music Association and 4-consecutive Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year has sold over 35 million records and scored 19 #1 hits, including "When the Sun Goes Down," "Beer in Mexico," "Living in Fast Forward," "Summertime," "Young," "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven," "Who You'd Be Today," "Never Wanted Nothing More," and "Anything but Mine." His GREATEST HITS II, debuted at #1 has already yielded the recent #1 hit "Out Last Night" as well as the driving "Ain't Back Yet," which serves as the end theme from "Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D," currently closing in on the top of the country radio charts.
