Off Strip Productions, The Onyx's resident theatre company, presents Some Things You Need to Know Before the World Ends (A Final Evening with the Illuminati) by Larry Larson and Eddie "Levi" Lee - the esteemed authors of Blood Orgy of the Chainsaw Chorus Line. The limited run begins tonight, April 16, at The Onyx in Commercial Center and plays through May 2. The show is directed by Producing Director Troy Heard and features Taylor Hanes and former Artistic Director Brandon Burk.

Some Things... is a post-apocalyptic comedy that takes place in a bombed-out church where the megalomaniacal Reverend Eddie (played by Hanes) presides over his congregation of survivors. He's assisted by the hunchbacked Brother Lawrence (played by Burk) who holds out hope for a better future. The two struggle to retain the bit of sanity in an insane world while facing the paranoiac pressure of the invisible ubercult, The Illuminati!

"Larson and Lee are hands-down two of my favorite playwrights," says director Troy Heard. "They write self-proclaimed children's-theatre-for-adults. In fact, an apocryphal saying attributed to Lee goes, 'There isn't a play that can't be improved by the addition of a chainsaw, strobe light or fog machine.' Apply that cheeky attitude to a black comedy about religion and the abuse of power and you've got Illuminati."

Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays, April 16 through May 29 at 7:00 pm with Sunday matinees at 2 pm. Tickets are $25.00 for general admission and $20.00 for students, seniors and military. Tickets are available through the Onyx Box Office or on www.onyxtheatre.com. Performances of Some Things... will be at The Onyx, located at 953 E. Sahara Ave. #16 in Commercial Center, Las Vegas, NV.
