Big Wins for Broadway Alum at AOF & Hollywood Dreamz Film Festival


Broadway actor turned CGI Film Director Charles Mandracchia, wins BEST ANIMATION & BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN in the Hollywood Dreamz Film Festival for his film BIG PASTA - The Jazzy, Cigar Chomping, Honky-Tonk Musical. Mandracchia is from the original cast of Tommy Tune's Grand Hotel the Musical.

The ACTION ON FILM FESTIVAL & Hollywood Dreamz Film Festivals were held in Las Vegas at the Palms in Las Vegas. Also featured were the famous ICON AWARDS. The ICON Awards...Amazing Martial Arts Awards honors legends in the Martial Arts. Notables who were in attendance and receiving awards include Heavyweight Champ Ray Mercer, Actor Chuck Zito, veteran Actor Mathias Hues, Ms. Olympia Corey Everson, veteran filmmaker Mike Hamil and UFC Champ Randy Couture who received the 2018 Icon Awards from presenters Michael DePasquale jr. and Dr. Robert Goldman.

Notable Actor/Producer Mark Richard Goldman was a winner with Father & Father' which has garnered over 30 Wreaths from International Film Festivals, winning 'Best Comedy', 'Best Director', 'Best Fight Scene' and many other awards. A natural for a Netflix series.

Another big winner was artist Frank D'Angelo winning for the the Joke Thief. Mr. D'Angelo is a great master of songs and very talented musical artist, not to mention his many character voices and talent for creativity. His son is a great man who was also recognized. D'angelo is also the writer, producer, director, and star of several major motion pictures which star Armand Asante & Danny Aiello.

Other notable winners were the extremely gifted screenwriters Matt Degennaro and Harold L. Brown. These are two of the most prolific writers of screenplays today. Included in the category of great writers and winning for her script St. Joseph was 1stWoman of Film at AOF Kathrina Miccio. Creative powerhouse Anabella Munro was elegant as the queen of the festival.

Mandracchia has learned from these writers and artists in their words that "honest feedback, brutally honest feedback is the only way to improve a story and get better as an artist. Feedback helps writers & Directors ensure they have a well-grounded understanding of the story, and it can help refine the story-which is the truth we are trying to tell and the need to develop a thick skin and courage to stick to your guns.

Filmaker and special artist Alexandria (Alex) Guarino received a standing ovation as an artist, she has great a talent for capturing the human heart and made a great film called TangoX. Writer/filmmaker David Weiss who won the AOF for Writer of the Year for his first action feature film script was also in attendance. Amy Leigh McCorkle was the artist in residence and has a terrific film was there with the talented Mickey Silver. Big winner for his script was Nemanja Colovic. His script tag...On the slippery slope of holding onto their American Dream, three recent immigrants cause nothing but star-spangled chaos in Oaksterdum! It's a incredibly well written script.

Superb actress and artist Brooke Lewis was in attendence. Brooke Lewis (born September 1, 1975) is an American actress, producer, TV personality, writer, and author. She began her career in theatre and musical theatre and got her break in the New York Off-Broadway comedy Tony n' Tina's Wedding. Best known as a scream queen for her roles in various horror films,including Polycarp (2007), iMurders (2008), Slime City Massacre (2010) and the Ms. Vampy (2009) television series, she also gained attention in the science fiction genre with Starship: Rising (2014) and the mobster genre with Sinatra Club (2010). Beside her scream queen reputation, Lewis is known as a board certified life coach, dating coach and dating expert, appearing on TV segments, writing for The Huffington Post and as the host of the dating talk-show Breaking Dating (2015).

Del Weston and his wife Theresa Weston along with the expertise of Zen have created a class act film festival. They truly care about artists. Every artist that leaves the AOF, Hollywood Dreamz and ICON Awards Film Festivals feels love and appreciation.
