MTH Partners With Girl Scouts of KS and MO
Building on the momentum of its nationally recognized education program, The MTH Theater at Crown Center has announced a partnership with the Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri to offer exclusive Girl Scout musical theater workshops throughout the year.
The workshops will take place on the Main Stage at The MTH Theater at Crown Center. The first workshop, entitled Musical Theater Madness, is scheduled for Saturday, February 3rd - and is completely sold out.
Furthermore, MTH has announced plans to introduce "Girl Scout Matinees" for a select number of its 2018 Main Stage musicals.
"We're always looking for new and innovate ways to partner with community leaders and The Girl Scouts is a perfect opportunity for us. Through this partnership and the synergy between our education iniatives and our live shows, we feel this relationship could blossom into something really special," said Chad Gerlt, MTH Executive Director.
MTH's Education Coordinator, Andrea Boswell-Burns, adds "MTH is beyond thrilled to begin this new community partnership with the Girl Scouts. We want to offer workshops, camps and theater going experiences that will impact young women and empower them to use their voices both on and off the stage."
The Girl Scouts have more than 1.8 million participants and are the premiere leadership development organization for girls with a mission to "build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place." This workshop will utilize live musical theater experiences to meet this mission. The girls will participate in musical theater warm-ups, games and put together a brief performance, demonstrating how musical theater helps to build confidence, teamwork and creativity!
