Kacico Dance Announces Auditions For Professional Dancers 02/05/2011

Kacico Dance is a professional contemporary modern dance company in the Kansas City area seeking highly talented dancers to fulfill its mission: to create and present the best in contemporary dance to audiences in Kansas City and nationally in a variety of presentational forms from formal theaters to arts festivals.

Highly trained, experienced and enthusiastic dancers (both male and female, wanting diversity) are wanted for the 2011 season with the potential of continuation into future seasons indefinitely. Dancers are paid on a per-project basis as funding is available. Experience and ability are also taken into consideration. Contracts for 2011 will run March - November 2011 possibly extending into December depending on further bookings and touring opportunities. An 8-10 hr/week rehearsal schedule is planned with technical training in modern, ballet, improvisation, contact improvisation included. Rehearsals are Tuesday and Friday mornings through the early afternoon. Advanced level in modern dance, extensive performance experience plus strong training in ballet and good health and physical condition are necessary. A cooperative, teachable attitude is essential. BA or BFA is preferred but not required. Improvisation, contact improvisation, tap, pointe, acting, vocal experience and!
teaching experience are helpful.

An alternate audition date is possible; however, attending 2/5/11 offers the best chance.

Audition will consist of modern, ballet, company repertory, improvisation, contact improvisation, and a personal interview.

Dancers must RSVP by sending a resume, headshot, and a paragraph explaining your goals for the next 5 years by the audition cutoff date, Jan. 21, 2011. Please include your e-mail address. Confirmation, directions and additional audition information will be sent to you via e-mail.
