Egads Theatre Company presents the Kansas City premiere of In Trousers by contemporary musical master William Finn (composer of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). In Trousers is Finn's earliest work and the first (and often over-looked) one-act musical of the Falsettos trilogy (AKA the "Marvin" musicals).

Marvin has a kid and a wife AND a lover - oy vey! When this balancing act gets too hot for Marvin, he reverts to himself at age 14 dodging the affection of his high school sweetheart and chasing after his aloof English teacher.

Finn's clever, catchy and breathless songs pitch us in and out of Marvin's confused adolescence and his current struggle between fantasies of kissing men and a desire to maintain a normal family life.

This show is recommended for teens and adults.

In Trousers is directed by Steven Eubank (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Rocky Horror Show, Reefer Madness, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Dog Sees God).  The cast features: Katie Karel as the High School Sweetheart (Into the Woods, Lucky Duck, Bare, The Rocky Horror Show) Molly Denninghoff as the wife (Frindle, Eating Raoul, This is How It Goes), Jared Hill as Marvin and Shelby Floyd as Mrs. Goldberg (both newcomers to Kansas City professional theatre).  Kevin Bogan is Music Director, Alex Murphy is Stage Manager, costume design by Casey MacNamara, properties by Caitlin Hall, lighting by Alex Perry, and set and sound design by Jeff Eubank.

In Trousers performs at the Off Center Theatre in Crown Center (3rd level) Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 PM Friday, March 11 through Saturday, March 26.  Additional performances include a 2pm matinee on Saturday, March 19, 8 PM on Monday, March 14 and 7 PM on Sunday, March 20.

Egads Theatre Company has slashed all ticket prices - no extra fees and no gimmicks - "we call them recession reductions":  $20.00 for center seating; $15.00 for right and left side seating; and $12.50 for student rush.  Group Rates available for groups of 10 or more.

For those on a budget, there are several discounted performances.  All tickets are only $12.50 on Opening Weekend (Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12 at 8:00 PM).  Opening night includes a complimentary Post-show Reception.  For those in the theatre industry, Monday, March 14 at 8:00 PM tickets are $12.50.
