Barn Players to Present URINETOWN

Don't let the title fool you! The award winning musical URINETOWN is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution set in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. Now for 8-performances only, Thursday, April 19th through Sunday, April 29th, the Barn Players proudly bring this bold "In Your Face" musical satire to their new home at downtown Kansas City's Arts Asylum: 1000 East 9th, (off Harrison Street), Kansas City, MO 64106.

URINETOWN was nominated for an impressive 10 Tony Awards, winning for Best Book, Score, and Direction. It also won the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical for co-creators Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis. Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical farce could be, URINETOWN is a darkly comedic romp perfect for our new millennium with a outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit, and unforgettable score.

The Barn Players production of URINETOWN is directed by Korey Childs; with musical direction by Kevin Bogan; choreography by Valerie Martin; and stage management by Mitch Simmons. Leading roles are being taken by Jennifer Cannady, Abbey Downs, Ray Ettinger, Zach Faust, David Martin, Kay Noonan, and Jon Rizzo. The supporting ensemble is Rachel Adcock, Craig Aikman, Jessica Alcorn, Paul Brennan III, Sarah Crow, Morgan Dayley, Tony Francisco, Lacy Goettling, Michael Golliher, Sam Hesman, Doug Jones, Matthew McGaugh, Barbara Nichols, Andrew Tippin, Brooke Tippin, and Nick Uthoff. Set design is by Korey Childs and Alex Perry; Set fabrication is by Bill Wright; Lighting design is by Alex Perry; Costume design is by Elise Campagna and Sarah Jeter; Sound design is by Ian VanDusen; and Props by Frank Gentile.
