Props & Wardrobe Supervisor: Two-Week Residency and Professional Staged Reading at Middlesex Community College
Houses on the Moon Theater Company seeks a resourceful, creative, and highly organized Props & Wardrobe Supervisor for an upcoming two-week residency culminating in staged readings of a new play. This project brings a professional NYC theater company with a 25-year history of excellence into collaboration with multigenerational guest performers from the greater Boston area in a fast-paced, creative environment.
The play, YOUR HANDS ARE THE ROAD: a ride upon the stage through queer American history, is produced in collaboration with History UnErased and brings to life powerful, untold stories of LGBTQ trailblazers. The project is designed as both artistic experience for distribution to high schools nationally for student productions and as a free educational tool with accompanying case studies for U.S. history classrooms. As this is a staged reading of a work with both modern and historical themes, the focus is on suggestive costuming and essential hand props that ground the actors in various eras without a full scenic build.
