Great opportunity available for an experienced Merchandise Manager to join the National Tour of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. This role is ideal for an individual with strong leadership skills, who likes managing a fast-paced retail operation, while traveling as part of a touring production team. The Merchandise Manager will oversee merchandise sales, inventory management, and customer service across various cities, ensuring an overall exceptional retail experience. You must be flexible, resourceful, and able to thrive in a dynamic, mobile environment with autonomy.



What You DO:

• Customer Service Excellence: Create a welcoming and positive environment at each venue to enhance the Grinch retail experience. Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring that all customers leave satisfied.

• Inventory Management and Reporting: Oversee inventory levels, conduct regular stock audits, and communicate with the New York office team via daily and weekly reporting to coordinate deliveries and inventory replenishment for each city on tour to ensure product availability. • Store Operations: Ensure the retail booth setup is visually appealing, well-organized, and well-stocked. Maintain cleanliness and high standards of retail presentation at each venue.

• Financial Management: Oversee the operations of the Square point-of-sale system to ensure accurate and efficient transactions, returns/exchanges, and inventory management across different cities.

• Communication: Act as the main point of contact between management, staff, and the touring company, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across all levels. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and directives while traveling.

• Tour Logistics: Coordinate with local venue leadership and tour management to ensure successful sales, setting up of retail displays, and efficient operations at each stop on the tour.

• Exit Logistics: Ensure final counts are accurately recorded, and all products and equipment are securely packed and ready to go at load-out, immediately following the last show exit sales in each city. Note that many stops are only one or two nights long, so you will collaborate with local venue leadership and tour management on a daily basis to ensure consistency and efficiency.

• Sales Operations: Thrive and lead others in a fast-paced sales environment, maintaining a professional, positive, and friendly demeanor while providing courteous and helpful information to customers.

Requirements:

• Prior experience touring or traveling professionally is a must.

• Robust customer service and retail management experience.

• Ability to maintain attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and to stand for extended periods.

• Must have a valid state-issued ID meeting REAL ID requirements for air travel or US Passport which will remain valid for duration of tour.

• A passion for travel and working on the road.

• Proficiency in inventory management software and POS systems (e.g., Square POS, Microsoft Excel and Office Suite).

• Strong ability to think strategically and prioritize effectively.

• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with various teams and local venue management for each tour stop.



Compensation:

• Base salary + sales commission

• Weekly Per Diem
