Falsettos - HBT Houston, TX - Local Actor Virtual Submissions for Jason Cover

CONTRACT

Seeking local Houston actors to perform the role of Jason. This is a cover listing and the actor will perform 2 out of 8 shows a week and cover the role of Jason for remainder of shows. Auditions are open to both union and non-union performers.

PRODUCTION DATES

First Rehearsal:  June 30, 2026
Performances:  July 28-August 16, 2026
Venue: The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts- Zilkha Hall

Hilarious, heartbreaking and utterly unique, Falsettos is a contemporary musical about family, relationships, bar mitvahs, baseball and AIDS. When Marvin leaves his wife Trina and son Jason to be with his lover Whizzer, tempers flare, problems escalate and everyone learns to grow up.

CHARACTERS:

‍JASON: Male-identified character, to play 13 years old, Jewish. Marvin’s and Trina’s son. Bookish and awkward. Jason’s impending Bar Mitzvah, his parents’ divorce, and the entrance of Whizzer into his life leave him confused, angry and trying to sort it all out. Tenor.
