Teaching Assistant - Christmas Carol - Raue Center For The Arts

Job Summary

Seeking a responsible, self-motivated, flexible, and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to join our production of Christmas Carol. Christmas Carol is a production of Raue Center for the Arts educational SAGE on STAGE program and will run December 4th through December 12th, 2021 at Raue Center for the Arts in downtown Crystal Lake, IL. This position requires attendance all rehearsals and all performances. Housing and transportation will not be provided. Local area candidates preferred.

Qualifications

Extensive experience working with youth ages 8 through 18.

Comfortable interacting with new and diverse groups of people.

Capable of maintaining composure in high-stress situations.



Primary Responsibilities

Implementing the creative team’s plans and maintaining daily schedules

Supporting each child's social, emotional and intellectual growth and development

Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of children

Using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies, as directed by the Education Manager and Director, to meet individual student needs

Assisting students with lines, vocal parts and choreography

Maintaining communication with staff regarding the progress of students





Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 Lbs

Must be able to stand for a prolonged period without the use of support

Must be able to use their hands to handle, control and feel objects tools, or controls. Assembly of production systems and or objects can be demanding.

Must be able to hear without an assisted electronic device.

Must be able to see differences between colors, shades, and brightness.

Keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.




Salary: stipend based on experience
