Sound Engineer — Disney’s Frozen (Contracted Project)

Duluth Playhouse is hiring a Sound Engineer for Disney’s Frozen performing at the NorShor Theatre. We are seeking a proactive, musically inclined designer who can collaborate quickly and effectively with a creative team.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute the complete audio environment for Disney’s Frozen., including sound effects, reinforcement, and playback.
Program QLab, Dante Networking System and Yamaha QL5 console (in-house system).
Provide sound support and communication tools (research, samples, cue sheets, etc.).
Assist with actor mic placement, and train wranglers on proper handling and care.
Set up conductor cam and video/audio monitors for cast and orchestra.
Coordinate the setup for the band footprint and equipment (if applicable).
Attend tech and dress rehearsals, production meetings, and all required performance dates.
Mix and run sound for all performances and tech rehearsals for Disney’s Frozen at the NorShor Theatre.

Cast Takes Stage: November 10
Rehearsals: Nov 10–21, Weeknights 6:00–10:00 PM
Cue-to-Cue: November 15 (10-hour day)

Ideal Candidate Has:
Experience designing for musical theatre.
Familiarity with QLab, Dante Networking System and Yamaha QL consoles.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Comfort working with small technical teams.
Stipend:
Paid rate is $800 per week
Out-of-town artists will be provided housing and travel support.
