Seeking Immersive Stage Management/ASM & Company Management/ACM



Now hiring Stage Management, Assistant Stage Management, Company Management and Assistant Company Management for a soon-to-be-announced immersive venue opening in Times Square. All positions are on a production contract basis.



Rehearsal & Performance Information (Subject to change)

Contract Schedule:

-Stage Management/ Assistant SM- September 19th, 2022- 7th January, 2023

-Company Management/ Assistant CM- September 19th 2022- 7th January, 2023



Schedule: The production runs in two shifts, a mid day- evening and an evening- late night, actual hours vary. Staff must be available to work 6 of 7 days per week, up to 40 hours, with one dark day.



Rehearsals: September 21-24

Dress Rehearsals: September 27-30

Opening Night: Oct 1

Performances: Oct 2- Dec 31, 7 days per week.



Open Positions:

Stage Managers ($1,300 p/w) & Assistant Stage Managers ($1,140 p/w), max 40 hours p/w

In our immersive world, the Stage Management team is primarily responsible for ensuring the audience flow is maintained and on time. Rather than sitting, our audiences walk through the experience from scene to scene- interacting with the sets, performers, and special effects. The SM team must maintain a safe environment for all parties, while also ensuring the event is performed to the highest possible standard and maintaining artistic excellence as set by the creative team.



The Stage Manager is responsible for the overall set up, run, and break down of the show as well as the safety of performers and audience members. A successful Stage Manager will be a team player, detail oriented, be able to think quickly, remain calm in stressful situations, and possess a strong work ethic. The Stage Manager must work with various departments and different types of performers to ensure a proper and safe upkeep of shows.





We are seeking someone who is a true self-starter, a multi-tasker, and someone able to prioritize responsibilities. Candidates will demonstrate attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills, possess and exhibit empathy, exude a good sense of humor, and a track record of on-their-feet problem solving. Candidates must be proactive and possess clear communication skills and the ability to be a team player. Experience in immersive theatre and/or late night specialty performance is a major plus.



Responsibilities:

-Run rehearsal rooms during the primary and understudy rehearsals.

-Maintain an atmosphere of empathy, compassion, and inclusiveness in leadership.

-Manage the cast backstage and anticipate their needs for a safe performance.

-Adhere and apply all company policies.

-Create and maintain both presets and running lists for all departments.

-Collaborate with Department heads.

-Manage the backstage crew.

-Run tech rehearsals and call the show.

-Create rehearsal reports, show reports and other reporting documents as required.

-Maintain blocking script, calling script and archive files.

-Other Stage Management duties as assigned.

- Strobing lights

- Continuous, large quantities of haze

- Minimal to no lighting

- Loud music and effects



Company Managers ($1,140 P/W) & Ast. CM ($960 P/W), max 40 hours p/w

Description

You’re the crucial link between the company of artists and the General Management team, acting as a liaison on all administrative and front of house matters. Working closely with the Associate General Manager, you will facilitate the on boarding of all company members and tend to the needs of artists and crew, ensuring all team members feel safe and supported. As our “boots on the ground,” you represent the institution during performances, and will work with the box office and house management teams to keep our front of house systems operating efficiently.



Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The Company Manager is an extremely organized and meticulous individual who plays well with others and has the ability to think on their feet and problem solve. The ideal candidate will lean on their empathy, patience, and sense of humor as they navigate the needs of each individual production and determine the best way to offer support to our artists and audiences.



Administrative Duties

-Coordinate all actor contracts and payroll paperwork, process weekly company payroll, and deliver paychecks to all company members, where direct deposit isn’t available.

-Coordinate and reconcile all petty cash for stage management and house management

-Execute other duties as assigned



Logistical and Artist Service Duties

-Ensure the cleanliness and safety of all rehearsal/performance spaces, green rooms, and dressing rooms, prior to the start of rehearsal or tech.

-Work with Stage Management to ensure they have the supplies and information needed to do their job efficiently.

-Post, announce and distribute critical information to company members.

-Aid in the organization of both the Opening Night and Closing Night events of every production.
