The People’s Theatre is seeking three Stage Managers — one for each play — for our upcoming New Horizons Play Reading Festival, taking place at the Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center.
About The People's Theatre
Over the last 17 years, The People’s Theatre has been creating theatre with and for the immigrant community to create a more just and equitable world and doing this through Productions, Education, and Advocacy. For 17 years, we have been producing plays created by and about The Playwrights Unit, an integral part of The People's Theatre mission to support Immigrant, Latine, Black and Queer playwrights in promoting innovative theatrical works. The program will culminate with the New Horizons Play Reading Festival, presenting the playwrights' original plays over three consecutive evenings in December 2025 at the Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center, 530 W 166th St, New York, NY 10032. Schedule: Play 1 Wed, Dec 3 – Rehearsal (9:30am–2:30pm) Thu, Dec 4 – Rehearsal (12–5pm) Thu, Dec 4 – Reading (7–9pm) Play 2 Thu, Dec 4 – Rehearsal (9:30am–2:30pm) Fri, Dec 5 – Rehearsal (12–5pm) Fri, Dec 5 – Reading (7–9pm) Play 3 Fri, Dec 5 – Rehearsal (9:30am–2:30pm) Sat, Dec 6 – Rehearsal (12–5pm) Sat, Dec 6 – Reading (7–9pm) Responsibilities: Manage rehearsals and staged readings for the assigned play.
Prepare and distribute rehearsal reports, keeping clear communication with the production team.
Support scheduling, transitions, and basic technical needs during readings.
Read stage directions aloud during readings when necessary.
