Camp Counselors for Overnight Musical Theater Camp (June 9-July 29) - Harand Camp of the Theatre Arts

Harand Camp of the Theatre Arts, an established musical theater and activities camp for children 7-18, is looking for Camp Counselors (age 18+) for its 70th Season (June 9 – July 29, 2025). Strong applicants should have previous experience working with kids and the ability to teach or assist in a variety of activity areas.



We are seeking applicants with skills in many areas - not just theater - so those without performing arts experience are also encouraged to apply! Highest need areas include technical theater, costumes, arts & crafts, performing arts, general sports & games, and certified lifeguards.



Counselors must be able to work & reside on campus at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI for the duration of our camp season, June 9 – July 29, 2025. Full room & board provided (dorm living at Carthage with three meals a day in “The Caf” catered by Parkhurst Dining).



REQUIREMENTS:

• Camp Counselors must be 18+ (out of high school!)

• Excellent with kids of all ages

• Ability to instruct or assist activity classes in variety of areas

• High energy and flexible in a fast-paced environment

• Strong leadership and team-building skills

• Positive attitude, common sense, and sound judgment

• Sincere desire to be a role model for children



SKILL & INTEREST AREAS:

• Technical Theater – Costuming (alterations, construction, fittings etc.)

• Technical Theater – Scenic/Other (Set Building/Lights/Sound)

• Performing Arts (Singing, Acting, Dancing)

• Arts & Crafts / Fine Arts

• Video / Photo

• Sports & Fitness (Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming etc.)

• General Games and Activities

• Other / Miscellaneous (Martial Arts, Creative Writing, Comedy etc.)



OTHER DETAILS:

• $1450+ stipend for Assistant Counselors (18+, just out of high school)

• $1550+ stipend for Counselors (18+, at least one year out of high school)

• More with experience or special certifications (Lifeguard, WSI, Nursing)

• Plus, full room & board at Carthage College (valued an additional $450+/week)

• Travel Stipend available for those coming from outside Illinois/Wisconsin

• 2025 Dates: June 9 – July 29, 2025 (Seven-week commitment including orientation)
