LISTING INFORMATION

SUMMARY:

The Box Office Manager will report directly to the Director of Ticketing Services, and work closely as part of the Marketing Team, to manage the day-to-day operations within the Box Office including, but not limited to; ticket transactions, customer service, communication about Dallas Theater Center productions and policies, supervision of staff, and reconciliation of Box Office transactions. The ideal candidate for this position must exercise independent judgement, initiative, ability to problem solve, diplomacy, a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and a love of theater.

This is an Exempt, salaried position, with a full benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance and paid-time off. Some evenings and weekends may be required, as needed throughout the year.

• ATTPAC Front-of-house team members

• Artistic Producer

• Associate Producer of Public Works

• Production Management team

• Patrons, donors and guests



KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patron Experience

● Promote a patron-focused environment throughout the organization

● Provide clear information about our performances, organization, neighborhood, and mission

● Prevent and resolve customer issues to mutual satisfaction

● Document specific patron reaction to price, amenities, parking and other relative comments

● Anticipate patron needs and concerns

Manage Box Office Activities and Transactions

● Oversee the Wyly and Kalita Humphreys Theater Box office

● Manage, recruit and train Assistant Box Office Manager and part-time box office associates

● Maintain regular public box office hours

● Manage and maintain online, phone, and in-person sales

● Reconcile box office cash drawer, deposits, and generate box office activity reports on the daily

● Work with Assistant Box Office Manager to provide manager support for all shows

● Coordinate and organize Mobile Box Offices for Dallas Theater Center Public Works and special events

● Manage Comp ticket requests for all shows and special events

Oversee House Management and FOH Activities

● Coordinate Dallas Theater Center's Front of House needs with AT&T Performing Art Center

● Provide lists and support for FoH for shows and special events

Other Duties

● Coordinate sign language and ADA needs for Patrons

● Be an active participant in DTC’s work towards equity, diversity and inclusion and becoming an anti-racist organization by:

○ Participating in all DTC-wide EDI trainings, workshops or experiences

○ Participating in all EDI learnings or experiences cultivated within the Marketing Department

○ Activate EDI learnings or experiences within the Box Office team

● Plan patron-based events

● Assist with donation requests

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS, AND ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:

● Excellent customer service and communication skills

● Sales experience

● Passion for the arts

● Basic understanding of computer programs (Word, Excel, Google Suite, etc.)

● Desire and ability to work as part of a team

● Ability to work under pressure

● Maintain safe work conditions in keeping with DTC’s health and safety guidelines and COVID19 Response Protocols.

● Ability to perform work consistent with DTC’s Mission, Vision and Values, including DTC’s commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

PREFERED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:



● Previous customer service or sales experience preferred

● Experience using Tessitura or other ticketing software programs is helpful, but not required – we will train a willing candidate!

● Ability to speak Spanish is a plus



COVID19 REQUIREMENTS:

● Ensure that all work is performed in alignment with DTC’s COVID19 Response Protocols

● Be able to provide documentation of full vaccination of a US-government approved COVID19 vaccine regimen for COVID19, at the time of hire.
