DEPARTURES To Come To Tokyo's Akasaka ACT Theater 5/28/2010

Variety has reported that a play based on the award winning Japanese film 'Departures' is set to run in Tokyo.

The show, slated to begin May 28th at Akasaka ACT Theater, will be adapted by Kundo Koyama, with Yojiro Takita overseeing the production process. After its Tokyo run, the show will hit the road, stopping in Osaka and Nagoya.

Kantaro Nakamura will lead the cast of 'Departures', playing the starring role of the "out-of-work cellist who finds a new calling preparing bodies for funerals." Actress Rena Tanaka will join him in the production as the cellist's wife.
